This is similar to the french Liege recipe. It results in really crispy, flavorful waffles. I pulled it from the King Arthur Flour website. It is a really good resource for flour-based recipes.
- 1 1/2 cups lukewarm milk
- 6 tablespoons butter, melted
- 2 to 3 tablespoons maple syrup, optional
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons instant yeast
This is a yeast-based recipe so it need from 1 hour to overnight in the refrigerator to develop before cooking.
