Serves 8
Ingredients:
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon allspice berries (ground)
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 12 ounces fresh cranberries
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups water
- 1/4 cup Grand Marnier orange liqueur
- Zest and juice of 1 orange
Directions:
- Combine sugar and water in a heatproof glass bowl or pyrex measuring cup.
- Heat the sugar and water mixture in the microwave until it comes to a boil and the sugar is dissolved.
- Pour the sugar and water mixture, the cranberries, orange zest and spices into a sauce pan.
- Bring the cranberries to a boil and boil uncovered for 10 minutes.
- Mash slightly with a potato masher.
- Continue to boil until thickened.
- Remove from heat and let cool for 3 minutes.
- Stir in Grand Mariner and orange juice.
- Chill in an ice bath.
- Freeze or store in an air-tight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
