Ingredients
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 tablespoons mirin or dry cooking sherry or dry vermouth or saki or omit this if you don’t have any.
- 2 teaspoons fresh grated ginger (from one 6-inch piece, peeled) or 1 tsp grated ginger
- 1 clove minced garlic
- 1/8 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 2 teaspoons corn starch
- 1 tablespoon honey
Instructions
- Combine it in a small saucepan over medium heat (don’t overheat it or the sugar will burn)
- It will become thicker when it cools
