Marinara Sauce

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small onion chopped
  • 4 cloves of garlic minced
  • 3 large cans (30 oz +) of diced or crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tsp fresh oregano chopped
  • 1 tsp fresh thyme finely chopped
  • 2 tsp fresh basil finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (ground)
  • 1/2 tsp parsley, diced
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 tsp salt

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Saute onion and garlic in olive oil on medium heat for 5 minutes
  2. Add tomatoes and blend with stick blender
  3. Add other ingredients and simmer for 10 – 15 minutes

NOTE:

If making spaghetti, boil noodles for 1 or 2 minutes less.  Drain (most) of the liquid.  Add sauce to the noodle mix and return to the stove and stir until the spaghetti noodles are completely done (4 – 5 minutes).  This will flav0r the spaghetti noodles with the sauce.
