Strawberry Salad

Yield: 8 servings.

INGREDIENTS: 

  • 2 pkg. strawberry gelatin
  • 1 c. hot water
  • 1 c. cold water
  • 2 10-oz. pkg. frozen strawberries, thawed
  • 1 envelope dessert
  • topping mix, whipped
  • 2 tbsp. sugar
  • 1-3 oz. pkg cream
  • cheese softened

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Dissolve gelatin in hot water;
  2. stir in cold water.
  3. Add 2 ice cubes,
  4. chill.
  5. Add strawberries.
  6. Pour half of mixture in oblong, glass baking dish.
  7. Freeze.
  8. Chill remaining half of mixture until nearly set.
  9. Combine dessert topping mix, sugar and cream cheese;
  10. beat until smooth.
  11. Spread dessert topping mixture on top of frozen layer
  12. top with chilled gelatin.
  13. Chill for several hours.
