Brush this on your cake pan to keep the cake from sticking. Make sure you remove the cake while it is still slightly warm so the goop doesn’t set up and stick.
- 1 part Flour
- 1 part shortening (Crisco)
- 1 part vegetable oil
- Mix together in a mixer.
- Store at room temperature for 2 months or until the oil begins to smell rancid or store in the refrigerator for several months.
- Use a silicone brush to put a thin layer on the cake pan.
- The cake may still stick around the sides but you can release it by running a knife around the sides before turning over. You could also line the sides of the cake pan with a layer of parchment paper to prevent sticking.
