Rust Remover – Non-Acidic
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 liter h20
- 100 g citric acid
- 40 g Sodium Carbonate (Washing Soda) or 63 g Baking Soda or 30 g Caustic Soda (Sodium Hydroxide / Lye)
- 2 teaspoons fabric softener or dish soap (surfactant)
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Add acid to water.
- It will fizz and give off C02
- The result is Monosodium Citrate and some disodium Citrate Salts.
- Instead of a PH of 1 for citric acid, this is a PH of 4. (1000 x less acidic than citric acid.
- Add a couple of teaspoons of liquid fabric softener as a surfactant. If you don’t have fabric softener, you could substitute dish soap.
